On November 22, 1952 she was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Scharenbroch and they enjoyed 65 years together until Larry preceded her in death on June 10, 2018. Larry and LaVerne farmed in the School Hill area and the Osman area until their retirement. LaVerne enjoyed her weekly cards with the ladies. She looked forward to the mailman coming each day to deliver a letter from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It always made her day.
Survivors include her sons; Peter (Gloria) Scharenbroch of St. Nazianz, Carl (Nancy Jo) Scharenbroch of Janesville, Dale (Kim) Scharenbroch of Valders, Tim (Brenda) Scharenbroch of Portage, Jerry (Jill) Scharenbroch of Newton, Jeffrey (Karice) Scharenbroch of Manitowoc and Kieth (Sherri) Scharenbroch of Newton, her daughter; Beth Ann (Scott) Woepse of School Hill, daughters-in-law; Michelle Scharenbroch of School Hill and Elizabeth (Scharenbroch) Stahl of Malone. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother; Richard Zill and sister-in-law; Joyce (Zill) Grau along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Larry, two sons; Michael and Wayne, along with her brothers; Adrian Zill, Edward "Shorty" (Mary Jane) Zill, and sister-in-law; Marilyn Zill.
LaVerne's family would like to thank the staff of The Court at Felician Village, especially Terri Herrmann for all their compassion and care. They would also like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, especially Tracey for keeping LaVerne comfortable in her last days.
Funeral Services for LaVerne will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John-St. Peter Lutheran Church (1255 W. Washington Ave, Cleveland) A time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 8:00a.m. until 10:45a.m. when we will have brief family rites before the service at 11:00a.m.
