Oscar Anderson
Abt 1874 - 1924

Oscar Anderson was believed to be about 35 years old when he passed from this life April 16, 1924, at Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah. His death certificate states he was born in Sweden, had worked as a laborer, single, family unknown, and was a patient one month and 18 days at the time that he died.
Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project: Oscar was among 600+ patients of the Utah Territorial Insane Asylum (now known as Utah State Hospital) between 1886 and 1960, buried in the Provo City Cemetery, most in unmarked graves, given a pauper's burial, alone without recognition or ceremony. The Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project requested donations to create a monument with individual plaques to honor each of these precious spirits. Thankfully, it was completed and dedicated to them October 10, 2018, in Provo City Cemetery.
