Sam Amorose
Abt 1881 - 1931

Sam Amorose was believed to be about 50 years old when he passed from this life at Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah, on June 23, 1931. His death certificate and commitment papers state his marital status, family names, and former residence are unknown. He had been a patient one month and five days at the time of his passing.
Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project: Sam was among 600+ patients of the Utah Territorial Insane Asylum (now known as Utah State Hospital) between 1886 and 1960, buried in the Provo City Cemetery, most in unmarked graves, given a pauper's burial, alone without recognition or ceremony. The Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project requested donations to create a monument with individual plaques to honor each of these precious spirits. Thankfully, it was completed and dedicated to them October 10, 2018, in Provo City Cemetery.
