JONES, Maj. Ronald W. loving father and husband, 85, retired of Tampa passed away June 16, 2015. Ron was born in Ypsilanti, MI, but called Tampa his home since 1954. He served in the Korean War as a Company Commander and later was employed by GMAC, the financial arm of G.M. After retirement from the Army and GM, Ron spent his days doing volunteer work, golfing, traveling, and enjoying his family and friends. He was preceded in death by wives, Betty A. and Eunice. He is survived by his current wife, Wilma; daughter, Julia Jones; son-in-law, Joseph (Skip) Philipp; sister, Kathleen Reeves; in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, from 11:30-1 pm at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 MacDill Ave, Tampa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa at 2 pm June 23. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Path Hospice.
