KATHERINE UNGER
Mrs. Katherine Unger, 88, a resident of Sheboygan since 1946, died Wednesday night at Sheboygan Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.
Born February 1, 1863, in the town of Centerville in Manitowoc county, she attended rural schools and for several years operated a dressmaking shop in Sheboygan.
Following her marriage to Julius Unger of Hika in 1904, she made her home in Hika. Her husband died in September, 1921, and Mrs. Unger returned to Sheboygan in 1946.
Survivors are four brothers, William Dehne, Fort Rock, Ore., Julius, Wessington Springs, S.D., Emil, Fargo, N.D. and Jacob, Huron, S.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Green, Fedora S.D> and Mrs Minnie Triplett, Sacramento, Calif.
Mrs. Unger was a member of Ss. John and Peter Lutheran church in Cleveland and was actively affiliated with the Ladies’ Aid society of the church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ss. John and Peter Lutheran church, with the Rev. Alven Bode, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery at Hika.
The body will lie in state at the Stoltenburg Funeral chapel at Cleveland from 2 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and at the church after noon Saturday.
