SALLIE POWALISZ

Mrs. Sallie Powalisz, formerly of 1225 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at Manitowoc Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thaddeus J. Koszarek will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Powalisz, nee Sallie Niemierowicz, was born Oct. 29, 1894, at Manistee, Mich., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Niemierowicz. She was educated at Manistee, where she was married to Edward Powalisz in 1914. They moved to Manitowoc in 1924. Her husband preceded her in death July 29, 1959. She was a member of St. Mary Parish and St. Mary Rosary Society.
Survivors include three sons, Gordon and John, of Manitowoc and Edward, of Two Rivers; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Genevieve) Zannacker, of Madison and Mrs. Hubert (Lorraine) Nischan, of Calumet City, Ill.; five brothers, John, Chester, Leonard and Marion, of Manistee and Dominick, of Muskegon, Mich.; five sisters, Mrs. Casimir Krolczyk, and Sarah, of Manistee, Mrs. Richard Nelson and Mrs. Clarence Meisner, of Muskegon and Clara, of Flint, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, where a prayer service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Harry Bergner is in charge of funeral arrangements.
