Mrs. Veronica Pekulik, 88, of 1105, S. 26th St. Manitowoc, died before noon Wednesday at the home after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Msgr. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The former Veronica Becker was born in Poland Feb. 2, 1870, daughter of the late John and Thelia Matczynski Becker. She came as a young girl to the United States and was married in 1889 at Manitowoc to Thomas Pekulik. He died Feb. 9, 1909. Mrs. Pekulik was a member of the Rosary and Altar societies of the church.
Surviving are four daughters, Miss Nellie Pekulik, Mrs. Michael Stryzewski and Mrs. Robert Jagodensky of Manitowoc and Mrs. Victor Rataczak of Rt. 3, Manitowoc; three sons, Frank, Charles and Gordon of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. by the Rosary Society and at 8 p.m. by the parish.
