CARL BUSSE

Carl Busse, 72, town of Eaton farmer, died Wednesday noon at Holy Family hospital after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Peter Lutheran church in the town of Rockland, the Rev. Victor Weyland officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Busse was born in 1877 in the town of Eaton where he farmed all his life. He was married in 1910. His wife died in 1930.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold Bruchschen of Newton; three sons, Gilbert of Cleveland, Edwin of the home farm at route 3, Kiel, and Laverne of Sheboygan; a sister, Mrs. William Holdorf of Manitowoc; four brothers, John and August of Manitowoc, William of route 1, Manitowoc, and Arthur of route 1, Kiel; and a grandchild.

Friends may call at the Berge funeral home in Valders from Friday noon until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be moved to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Busse, Charles (Oct. 24, 1877-April 26, 1950 –husband of Lydia Kocher [married in 1910] –son of John Busse and Sophia Horstmann –born Town of Eaton –farmer in Town of Eaton –on May 26, 1910 purchased from his widowed father the 80 acre farm at 6508 Lax Chapel Road in Section 21, Town of Eaton plus 10 acres of cedar swamp in Section 29, Town of Eaton –on July 22, 1927 purchased the 5 acres of swampland in the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 29, Town of Eaton –Charles owned the farm at 6508 Lax Chapel Road until his death in 1950 –this farm was then purchased by his son Edwin Busse –died from “coronary occlusion due to embolism, 5 minutes –chronic inactive rheumatic endocarditis, 50 years –gangrene of leg due to thrombosis, 10 days –arteriosclerosis, 30 years”) –buried at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Rockland [death record Manitowoc 43-274]
