McDaniel services Friday George F. McDaniel, 48, Winchester, former owner of the Winchester Grocery, died Tuesday morning at Stormont-Vail hospital, Topeka. He suffered a heart attack after he was admitted to the hospital Aug. 25. Mr.

McDaniel waa born Nov. 19, 1929 at Sabetha and grew up in the Granada community where he lived 87 years before moving to Winchester in 1966. He and his family operated the Winchester grocery store seven years before selling it to Pat Peek in 1978. He was employed as a meat inspector for the State of Kansas since 1974. He was a member of the United Methodist church.
Mr. McDaniel and Marvel I. Scott were married Jan. 10, 1961 at the home of her parents in the Wetmore community.
She survives. Other survivors include a Mrs. Cindy Griffitte, Oskaloosa; three sons, Greg McDaniel, of the home, Larry McDaniel, Valley Falls, and Mike McDaniel, Omaha, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Loren McDaniel, Nov. 13, 1970, and his parents, George W.
and Mildred McDaniel, Wet more, in 1976 and 1978 respectively. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Burial will be in the Wetmore. cemetery
