Myrtle L. Fischer, 88, of N7414 Cty. Trk. LS, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at the Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Born June 19, 1914 in the Town if Meeme, Manitowoc County. Myrtle was a daughter of the late Oscar and Emma Wagner Lutze.
On June 22, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leslie Louis Fischer in the Cleveland Lutheran Church. They were married for 64 years before Leslie preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1999. The couple farmed in the Town of Mosel until 1959. Myrtle spent many joyful hours working at Stoeckigt's Ballroom formerly Gretz's in Cleveland. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Myrtle is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Elaine and Jim Balzer, Great Falls, Mont., Charmaine and Gary Ponkratz, Green Bay and Punta Gorda, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jolaine and Sean, nine step-grandchildren, Jackie, Vicki, Tammy, Lori, Brad, Christine, Paul, Pamela and Michelle, two great-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren, a sister, Marian (Ray) Sixel, Town of Mosel; one nephew, Randall Sixel and one niece, Barbara Sohn. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at St. John's United Church of Christ, North 13th & Lincoln, with the Rev. Gregory S. Whelton, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Church, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services. In Lieu of flowers a mermorial fund has been established in her name for St. Mark's and Saxon Cemeteries and the American Heart Association of Wisconsin. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
