Lizzie was born on 26 April 1866 in the village of Misiere, Brussels Township, Door County, Wisconsin, the eldest child of Adrien Francois (1832-1900) and his second wife, Fulvie Adelaide Piette (1846-1905). Adrien was one of the founders of Misiere and served in a number of important civil positions.

On 21 April 1880 Lizzie wed Edward Renier (1848-1911), a local resident and fellow St. Michaels' parishioner. Lizzie and Edward raised three children who survived to adulthood: Emma (1881-1959), Frank (1886-1966), and Henry (1889-1950).

Lizzie died of a heart attack at her home near Misiere on 17 November 1936 at age 70.

From her birth to her marriage Lizzie lived next to the site of St. Michaels Cemetery. From her marriage to her death, Lizzie live on a farm one mile from the cemetery. Upon her death she returned to St. Michaels Cemetery.
