MRS. GARNETTE HAMBLE, WIFE OF POSTMASTER, STRICKEN
GLOUSTER, July 9--Mrs. Garnette Hambel, aged 31, wife of Postmaster HF. Hambel of Glouster, died at their home here at 11:40 o'clock Saturday morning. Heart trouble caused the death. She had been in ill health since their home was invaded by bandits last October. At that time Mr. Hambel was forced to go to the Post Office and to give money and stamps to the robbers, while Mrs. Hambel was held under guard at her home.
Mrs. Hambel was a member of the Church of Christ, Thea Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxillary. Besides her her husband she leaves two children, Raymond, aged 11, and Lela, aged 5; her mother, Mrs. L.L. Robinett of Glouster, and a brother, Mark Hemry of Corning.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. M.S. Rogers, Columbus, former Glouster pastor, in charge. Burial will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.
Miss Mae Wallace of Bailey Run sang a solo, the Craft sisters of Murray City sang a duet, and the Shearer sisters of Millfield presented a trio. "Hop High" Holmes, playing a fife, accompanied a group of eight girl singers.
