Grace Christensen Pugh
1927 - 2012

Grace Christensen Pugh, 84, of Lindon passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Grace was born December 12, 1927 in Sterling [Stirling, Alberta, Canada] to Harold and Myrtle Freeman Christensen. She married Cecil Burton Pugh on March 17, 1955 in the Cardston Alberta Temple.

Grace grew up on the family farm near New Dayton and attended school there. She received her nurses training at Galt hospital and the University of Alberta where she met her devoted companion, Burt Pugh. Grace served as a gentle and intuitive nurse for many years. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints fulfilling a mission in Eastern Canada as well as serving faithfully in numerous callings throughout her life. She loved handiwork, sewing, and cooking. She was a loving and compassionate wife and mother who taught selfless service and kindness through daily example. We are so grateful for her wonderful influence in our lives.

Grace is survived by her husband Burt and seven children: Scott (Sue) Pugh, West Jordan; Lee (Daraleen) Pugh, Riverton; Kayleen Pugh, Atlanta, GA; Lynn (Isabelle) Freeman, Las Vegas, NV; Kenneth (Rebecca) Pugh, South Jordan; Donald (Mary) Pugh, Riverton; Melanie (Derek) Hein, Lindon; 31 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as a brother, Donald (Joyce) Christensen, Sterling [Stirling], Canada.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 E. 100 N, Lindon where family and friends may attend a viewing from 10-11:45 prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.

Our family would like to extend our most sincere and heartfelt gratitude to those who watched over and cared for Grace at the Ashford Memory Care facility where she spent the last 10 months of her journey here.
