Former Mayor of Boulder City, W. Tom Cooper, 67, of Boulder City, passed away peacefully Dec. 24, 2011. The son of Boulder Dam plumber, Cortez T. "Corty" Cooper and Wilma (Pease) Cooper, Tom was born and raised in Boulder City, graduated from Boulder City High School in 1962, served on Boulder City's City Council starting in 1966, and was mayor from 1975 to 1977.

He worked for Clark County for a number of years until his retirement in 1996 and was a member of the Boulder City Horseman's Association.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Candi Cooper-Towler and husband, Grayson, and Stacey Davidson and husband, Dennis; nephews, James and John Wells; niece, Rachel Wells; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the Boulder City Cemetery Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
