JULIUS HECKER (d. 1952)

J. A. Hecker, 72, died Sunday morning at his home, 922 N. 14th St., Manitowoc,
after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Wednesday at the Grace Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. W. W. Gieschen officiating. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Hecker was born in the Town of Newton July 7, 188 0. At the age of 17, he
went to South Boston, Va., and returned eight years later to make his home in
Collins. He was employed at the August Born Hardware Store for 39 years. Seven
years ago he moved to Manitowoc, and became an employe of the Aluminum Goods
Mfg. Company. For the past five years he had been living a retired life.
He was united in marriage with Anna Roesler of Collins in 1913. She survives,
with a daughter, Mrs. Hover S. Knutson of Valders; a brother, Adam Hecker of
Valders; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Muehlhauser of Frederick, Wis., Mrs. Bertha
Wagner of Denver, Col., Mrs. Arthur Lutze of Manitowoc and Mrs. Edwin Schnell
of Rt. 1, Manitowoc. Five grandchildren also survive.
The body is at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, where friends may
call from Tuesday noon until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to
the Grace Lutheran Church for funeral rites.

Wedding bells rang merrily on Wednesday, Oct. 15th, when the Misses Anna and Emma Roesler of Eaton became the brides of Aug. Hecker and John Niemand, respectively at the Lutheran church. A fuller account of the wedding will be given next week.
