Ward - Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Langham's Funerl Home for George Albert (Bert) Ward, 75, of South St. Rd., RD. 1, who died Saturday night in Auburn Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Sept. 25. The Rev. Floyd E. Guiles, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Lake View Cemetery, Fleming. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Sherwood Native-Mr. Ward was a native of Sherwood, spent many years in Auburn and moved to Fleming a little more than two years ago. He was superintendent of the sheet metal shop for Smith & Pearson from the end of World War 1 until the former hardware firm went out of business in 1951. He also was employed by C.G. George & Son. A 50-year member of the Auburn Lodge 431, F&AM, he was also on the Masonic banquet committee for 30 years. Mr. Ward served as chairman of the committee for 23 years. He held membership also in the Anar Grotto and was a communicant of First Methodist Church. Widow Survives-He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Verne Bacon Ward; three daugthers, Mrs. David H. Beach, Miss Pauline R. Ward of Auburn, and Mrs. Wilbur L. Townsend of Fleming; a sister, Miss Antoinette S. Ward; two brothers, Claude and Wesley G. Ward of Auburn; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Contributions to the First Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Fund may be made in lieu of flowers.
