Dr. Rex Boyd Greenwood, 82, of Orem, Utah, died of a stroke, August 30, 2004, the day following their 61st wedding anniversary. Boyd was born December 31, 1921, the youngest child of Ernest Morgan Greenwood and Florence Rees Greenwood. He married LuRae Munk on August 29, 1943, in Washington D.C. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on November 16, 1945. Children: Margaret (Karl) Blake, Annalee (Don) Wood, Rex Paul (Verna) Greenwood, Robin (Brent) Norton, Lynn Ray Greenwood. Grandchildren: 24 beautiful grandchildren as of August 2004 and 38 beautiful great grandchildren. At Snow College he lettered in three sports football, basketball, and track. He made all conference honorable mention in football and basketball. He met his future wife, LuRae Munk at Snow College. He served in the European Theatre Army Air Corp from August 1942 to October 1945. He attended BYU in 1945-46 and entered Northwestern University in Chicago in June of 1946. He opened a dental practice in Nephi in 1949 to 1954. He entered Emory University in Atlanta on a teaching fellowship in 1954 in Orthodontics. He established a practice of Orthodontics in Provo, Utah in 1955, retiring in 1989. He has been a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. He was made a Life Member of the American Dental Association in 1986. "Old dentists never die - they just grind away." He was active in the LDS church having served in many leadership capacities. LuRae and he served an LDS mission in Bristol, England 1989-1991. He was the past president of Golden Kiwanis in Provo and Utah Valley Dental Association. Funeral services held Friday, September 3rd , 2004,in the Cascade 4th Ward Chapel, 1051 East 200 North, Orem. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery, with full military rites.
