William A. Nack, 76, of 1728-29th St., Two Rivers, an early Manitowoc County cheesemaker, and one of the founders of the Two Rivers Dairy Co., died unexpectedly of a heart attack while mowing the lawn at his home at 9 a.m. Saturday. He had previously been in good health.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. W.G. Haase officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Nack was born Nov. 28, 1883, at Hika, Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, a son of the late Christian and Anna Heinz Nack. He attended the district school at Centerville, and entered the University of Wisconsin School of Agriculture's dairy school in 1908. Later he operated and owned a number of cheese factories in Manitowoc County. He brought his family to Two Rivers and was a co-founder of the Two Rivers Dairy Co. on the city's east side, now known as the Verifine Products Co., where he remained for 12 years. For a number of years up to his retirement in 1951 he was employed by the Paragon Electric Co., Two Rivers. He was a longtime member of St. John church.

Besides his wife, the former Minnie Tilis, whom he married at Newtonburg, Manitowoc County, April 12, 1910, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lester Petri and Mrs. Emil Schmidt of Two Rivers; a son, Howard, of Two Rivers, a brother, Ervin, of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, after 3 p.m. Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of services.
