Catherine Marie Schmieder Nate (Sis), age 75, of P.O. Box 454, Reedsville, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 1996, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Rev. Ronald Guillette will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.
She was born May 1, 1921, in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late John and Catherine (O'Hearn) O'Leary. She married Lawrence Schmieder on June 23, 1951, at Maple Grove. She was one of the original employees of the UpJohn Home Care Agency in Manitowoc, where she received her Home Health Aide Certificate. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's in Maple Grove and St. Patrick's Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary Bloedorn-Becker-Jensen, Unit 126, of Brillion for 16 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Schmeider, Reedsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Darlene Schmieder, Whitelaw; two grandchildren, Jesse and Kris, Whitelaw; one sister, Adeline O'Connell, Reedsville; many nieces, nephews, godchildren and a special nephew, Harry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 1962; two infant children; and two brothers, Gordon and Donald.
Friends may call at the church from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 1996, and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A parish vigil will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
