BUCKLAND - Raymond Cooper, 62, of Upper St., died Sunday at his home. Born July 14, 1899, in Chester, Conn., the son of Andrew and Paulinie (Bawmann) Cooper, he had resided here for 11 years, coming from New Britain, Conn. He was employed by Lampson and Goodnow Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Mary Lyon Congregational Church. He was a member of Buckland Grange and served in the Army in World War I. He leaves his wife, Jennie Cooper; a daughter, Mrs Walter Valentine, of East Hartford; a son Norman of Kensington, Conn.; two sisters Miss Mildred Cooper of Deep River, Conn., and Mrs. Thomas Moran of Chester, Conn.; a brother Kenneth Cooper of Strawberry, Cal.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Alan Kelton of Pawtuxent, Md., Mrs. Henry Turomska of Florence and Mrs. Philip Shulda of Buckland; a step-son, Earl Lowell of Colrain; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Tuesday at 2 in Mary Lyon Church with Rev. Stanley L Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Buckland Union Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Johnson funeral home in Shelburne Falls will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. [published Jan. 7, 1963 Springfield Union]
