Michael Wagner

On Thursday morning before twelve clock here, in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Barney Grasse at 1402 Kentucky Ave. He had a wide circle of friends in high esteem and pioneer of Town Mosel departed this life, namely Mr. Michael Wagner. While he used to be a long series of years in Town Mosel successful farming operation and because of his conservative nature and his righteousness was universally popular. He spent ten years in retirement a well-deserved rest in our city. Michael Wagner is a native of Germany, and came as a boy to Town Mosel, where he remained until his retirement. He was a veteran of the Civil War, belonging to the glorious 26th Wisconsin Regiment and was wounded in battle. The now deceased, who reached the age of 81 years, was twice married. The first marriage was with Miss Theresa Oswald and he leaves behind seven children from this marriage namely: Otto in Town Meeme, Rudolph and Walter in Town Herman, Emil and Adolph in Town Mosel, Mrs. Herman Gaubitz in Chilton and Mrs. Barney Grasse here. After the death of his first wife he was in later years married to his second wife Augusta Wirth, who died a few years ago. The funeral will be tomorrow in this city, Sunday afternoon from the funeral home and at Wildwood Cemetery with Pastor Krueger officiating.
