AGED WOMAN FOUND DEAD ON FLOOR OF HOME

Woman Aged 80, Had Resided Here For 50 Years

Death came to Mrs. Ida Zagrodnlck sometime between 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and bedtime last night and her body was discovered In the basement room which was her bed room and kitchen when Mrs. Joseph Marenda, who lived on the second floor in the home owned by the Marenda's at 1128 South Twentieth street, went to the basement to visit her tenant. The body was discovered lying on the floor behind the stove and death had apparently come swiftly as there was no sign of a struggle. Dr. W. G. Kemper, county coroner, was called, but found no reason to hold an inquest, finding that death was due to natural causes. No arrangements had been made for a funeral at noon today.
Resident Half Century
Mrs. Zagrodnick was eighty years of age and had made her home in this city for more than a half century. Her husband died thirty-six years ago and after the children had grown up she lived by herself although she would often spend
days at the home of her children. She had visited at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Povalich, Saturday and at that time had complained of not. feeling as well as usual although she was about and appeared to be in good health. Yesterday she was seen about her room and talked with one of the boys of the neighborhood at 4 o'clock and this, so far as can be learned, was the last time she was seen alive. Mrs. Marenda became a bit worried over the unusual quietness in the basement rooms and upon going down to investigate at 10 o'clock discovered the body of the woman, death having come hours before.
Leaves Five Children
Surviving Mrs. Zagrodnick are three daughters, Mrs. John Matczinsky, Mrs. Frank Povalich and Mrs. Joseph Ziarnik and two sons, John and Mike, all of this city with the exception of the latter whose whereabouts have been unknown for some time. One sister at Milwaukee and a number of grandchildren also survive her
