He was educated in the Chatham County Schools and moved to Durham as a young man and has been here ever since. He was a paint contractor in the Durham/Chapel Hill area for over 50 years. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and the BWC Sunday School Class, where he selflessly served for over 40 years as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon.
Surviving is his wife of 74 years, Hazel Ferrell; son, David T. Oldham and his wife, Nancy, of Selma, NC; daughter Helen O. Dennis and her husband, Eddie, of Durham.
A funeral will be held 11am Friday, April 6, 2007 at Ephesus Baptist Church. Rev. Woody Massey will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
