Martha Altschwager
Funeral service for Mrs. Martha Altschwager, 85, formerly of 1016 Kentucky Ave., who died at Sunny Ridge on Thursday, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Nickel-Lip-pert Funeral Home.
The Rev. Darrel L. Bergelin, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The former Martha Stolzman, she was born Oct. 7, 1897, in the Town of Centerville, a daughter of the late Otto and Mary Huhn Stolzman.
On May 10, 1938, she and Paul Altschwager were married In Cleveland. The couple owned and operated a farm in Sheboygan County until retiring in 1963. Mr. Altschwager died Sept. 6, 1977.
Mrs. Altschwager moved to Sheboygan shortly after her husband's death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, and its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lenore Turner of Minneapolis and Mrs. Elmer (Lorena) Sixel of Sheboygan, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Altschwager's name.
