Funeral services were held at the Remer Alliance church in Remer on Saturday, March 17, 1973 for Walter R. Myers, 68, of Remer.
Born in Akeley on September 16, 1904, Mr. Myers died unexpectedly while en route to Itasca Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids on Thursday, March 15, 1973.
Surviving relatives include his wife Laura; three daughters, Mrs. Clifton (Lauretta) Nelson, Mrs. Allace Wagner and Mrs. LeRoy (Marcella) Wilson, all of Grand Rapids; two sons, Raymond of Huntington Beach, California and Tommy of Remer; his mother, Mrs. Annie Myers of Grand Rapids and 25 grand-children.
Clergymen were Rev. James Stone and Rev. Richard Colenso. Arrangements were provided by the Rowe funeral home of Grand Rapids. Interment was in Fairview cemetery at Remer.
Mr. Myers was a member of the Remer Alliance Church.
Born in Akeley, Mr. Myers was raised in the Akeley-Frazee area. He came to the Remer area in 1920 and was married to Laura Frank on June 20, 1929 at Akeley. He and his wife resided in Remer ever since and he was active in farming and drove school bus for the Remer district."
