Hans C. Anderson
1876 - 1909

Hans C. Anderson was 33 years old when he passed from this life at Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah. He is the son Hans C. and Inger Maria Overson Anderson, he was single, former resident of Vineyard, Utah, and had been a patient since March 18, 1909 (12 days), at the time he died on March 30, 1909.
Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Project: Hans was among 600+ patients of the Utah Territorial Insane Asylum (now known as Utah State Hospital) between 1886 and 1960, buried in the Provo City Cemetery, most in unmarked graves, given a pauper's burial, alone without recognition or ceremony. The Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project requested donations to create a monument with individual plaques to honor each of these precious spirits. Thankfully, it was completed and dedicated to them October 10, 2018, in Provo City Cemetery. Hans' grave was marked with a headstone years after he died. He has no USHFPP memorial plaque as of July 2019.
Discrepancy: With birth date between headstone (2 Jan 1876), death certificate (2 Dec 1875), and cemetery record (2 Dec 1875).
