MISS ELIZABETH HAERIG, 87, a resident of the Family Heritage Home, Manitowoc, formerly of the Jericho area, died Saturday at the home after a lingering illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1889, daughter of Jacob and Mathilda Schneider Haerig. Miss Haerig was a registered nurse and followed that profession until she accepted the position of housekeeper for her nephew, the late Rev. Joseph C. Schaefer, at Shawano. She served as his housekeeper for 40 years. Survivors are a sister. Mrs. Katherine Booker, San Diego, Calif.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two half-sisters and two half-brothers.

A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho, preceded by brief family rites at 10:30 a.m. at the Pfeiffer-Wieting Funeral Home, Chilton. The Rev. Francis D. Rose, pastor of St. Isadore Catholic Church, Osman, will be celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
