Robert Karl Hermann, age 82, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc with his loving family at his side.

He was born March 11, 1925, in the Town of Centerville, the son of the late Gottlieb and Viola (Kalk) Hermann.

Robert served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific Theaters.

On November 27, 1948, Robert and Esther Biever were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Robert worked for his father at Cleveland Auto Sales & Salvage, Inc., eventually becoming owner/operator of the business. During this time he also worked for the Manitowoc County Traffic Department as a traffic officer, retiring in 1974. He retired as owner/operator of Cleveland Auto in 1997 but he was still active in the business until his time of death.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Las Vegas trips, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family.

He was on the Board of Directors for The Travelers Protective Association of Sheboygan, a member of the VFW Cleveland Post #8974, past president of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Manitowoc County Traffic Officers Association, former trustee for the Village of Cleveland, and former supervisor in the Town of Centerville.

Survivors include his wife: Esther Hermann, his children: Christi Hermann of Cleveland, Charles (JoAnn) Hermann of Cleveland, Donna (John) Falcone of St. James City, Florida, James (Terri) Hermann of Cleveland, Robert C. Hermann of Shoto (special friend Angela Blashka), Todd (Shelby) Hermann of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Lindsey Busscher of Miami, Florida, Robert J. Busscher of St. James City, Florida, Thomas Hermann of LaCrosse (fiancé Stacy Schnelle), Austin Hermann of Shoto; and sister: Phyllis Lenz of Racine.

Robert was preceded in death by son-in-law: Kendall Busscher; sisters: Lorraine Eigenberger, Helen Mueller; brother-in-law: Robert Mueller; sister-in-law: Margaret Biever.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill. The Reverend Michael Bigley will be the Celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ Howards Grove) from 3:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M., and at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass at 10:30.
