Walter H. Born, 74, of 735 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. Keith Haag will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Born was born Jan. 9, 1898 in the Town of Newton, son of the late John and Augusta Reinhardt Born. He married Mable Vogt Oct. 18, 1922, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. They owned and operated the homestead farm on Rt. 3, Manitowoc, until 1969, coming to Manitowoc. The couple observed its 50th w4edding anniversary Oct. 18.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Madison; a daughter, Mrs. Harris (Carolyn) Schmidt, of Chilton; two brothers, Reinhold, of Manitowoc, and Edgar, of Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren. A son, Melvin, a daughter, Marion, and a sister, Frieda, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from noon Friday at the church until the time of service.
