1921 – 2011

Clara Anderson (nee Williams) passed away on Saturday, August 6th 2011. Clara was born August 27th, 1921, and lived her entire life in Calgary. She attended Elbow Park Elementary and Central High School, where she formed life-long friendships with many classmates. In 1946 she married D. H. Anderson (Harry) and raised two sons, David and Tom.

Clara spent her life taking care of others. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family, a devout member and participant in Christ Church Elbow Park, a supporter of many local charities, and a driver for Meals on Wheels. She was always ready to care for an ailing friend or neighbour. Clara offered comfort and inspired others through her many acts of kindness.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, David of Winnipeg and Tom and his wife Trish of Lethbridge, her granddaughter Julie (Mick) and great-grandson Mitchell (in Australia). She is missed by her brother James Williams (Sylvia) and children (Bob, Wendy and Don), her niece and nephew John (Linda) and Susan. She was especially close to her sister-in-law Lois Sloth and her children Karin (David) Patsula and Kirsty (Graeme) Hull and their children Liam and Rowan; and her dear friend Ethel McDonald and her goddaughter Nancy McDonald of Stratford. She is predeceased by her mother (Ida), her father (Chester James), her brother (Chester) and her husband Harry.

Memorial Services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Burnsland Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donors choice. The family would like to thank Clara's family physician Dr. J. Corley, the staff at Rockyview Hospital Unit 56, and the Chinook Hospice.
