Bonnie B. Whitman May 20, 1927 – May 30, 2011 Bonnie Bea Whitman, 84, of Monroe went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 30, 2011.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Tom Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Bonnie was born May 20, 1927 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Luther and Minnie (Fincher) Haynes. She married Harold Whitman, the love of her life and husband for 67 years on November 6, 1943.

She attended Monroe High School, and graduated in 1975 from the Toledo Medical University, she was a Certified Medical Assistant. She had also worked at Kline's Department Store. Bonnie loved her home and family.

She loved crocheting, sewing, canning, cooking, doing ceramics and fishing. She had a computer and loved to play FreeCell and she enjoyed her Facebook page.

She is survived by her husband Harold Whitman of Monroe, five children, David Whitman and Dr. Paula Whitman both Monroe, Pauline Kaye (Jack) Absalom of Ringgold, Georgia, Mark (Kathy) Whitman of Monroe and Tracy (Ron) Mangold of Oceanside, California; a brother, Johnny Haynes of Pointe Place, Ohio; two sisters, Annette McDaniel of Indiana, Yvonne McBee of Monroe; twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved and was loved.

She will be missed by everyone who ever knew her.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Paul; a grandson, John R. Standifer, Jr., two sisters, Elsie Mallicoat and Mildred Lambert.
