Death Wednesday evening last week in Town Centerville of John Duesing of throat cancer. The deceased, who was born 1858 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, came to America as an 11-year old boy. He was a veteran of the Civil War. He leaves his widow, 3 sons and 5 daughters.
(Note: He couldn't have been a veteran of the Civil War if he was b. in 1858, the newspaper may have said 1838 and been misread. Sometimes letters and numbers aren't real clear.)
