On 30 April 2010, after Travis passed away, Utah Valley University awarded him his diploma. Although he was four classes short, a former teacher saw to it that he be honored for his "contributions to the school and to his education" and believed he had "merited a graduation." The university agreed. Travis' children, Timberlyn and Bridger, accepted the diploma in his behalf.
