He was born Sept. 21, 1904, at Cleveland, son of Frank and Wilhelmina Levoneosky Schneider. He attended St. Wendel Catholic School in Cleveland. On May 1, 1928 he married the former Lidwina Hartmann at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. They farmed near Rockville before moving to Kiel.
Mrs. Schneider was employed at A. A. Laun Furniture Factory, Kiel, retiring in 1962 due to ill health. Mrs. Schneider moved to New Holstein seven years ago. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Roland (Marie) Woelfel of Kiel; four sons, Donald and Allen M., both of New Holstein; Edwin Jr. of Sheboygan and Elroy of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Madeline Schneider of Mrs. Lester Graef, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Matt Meyer of St. Nazianz; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
A funeral Mass was offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
