Rites for Mrs. Ira McLaughlin To be Held Here Monday
Mrs. Nancy M. McLaughlin, 76, widow of the late Ira Austin McLaughlin, died Friday at 8:30 a.m. She and her daughter, Miss Viola P. McLaughlin resided together at 255 Chestnut Street, Marion. She had been enjoying fairly good health, but was believed to have been stricken by a heart condition. She was found dead about noon. The family were former residents of this city.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Whitley County, Indiana, August 31, 1877, a daughter of Absolom and Sarah (McPherson) Stiver. She was married December 28, 1901, in Warsaw, Ind. The husband passed away August 24, 1943.
Surviving with the daughter, at whose home she died are two other children, Leona, wife of Howard Lodge of Middlepoint, Ohio, and Grace, wife of Kelsie Eagans, of 127 East Farming Street, Marion.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Donald and Lawrence Clinger, of Marion; James Lodge, of Van Wert,; and Pvt. Richard E. Lodge, of Ft. Belvoir, Va.; four step-grandchildren, Kelsie, Jr., Carolyn, John and Nancy Eagans, of Bedford, Ind., and one great-granddaughter, Deborah Ann Lodge, of Van Wert.
Mrs. McLaughlin was the last of a family of 12 brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Prospect Street Methodist Church, in Marion, having resided in that city six years.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the Bringman & Co. funeral home here with Rev. Fletcher E. shoup, of the Prospect Street Church, officiating.
