William Thomas "Tom or W. T." BURTON, son of Larry T. BURTON and Martha Patricia "Patsey" MADISON; born 22 June 1841 (tombstone) Granville Co., NC (per location of 1850-1860 census); died age 61 on 10 September 1902 (tombstone), Webster Co., KY; buried Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church Cemetery, Webster Co., KY.

Tom married 18 October 1865, Webster Co., KY to Elizabeth Ann "Betty" KING (part Cherokee Indian of NC). The BURTON family was also part Cherokee Indian from North Carolina.

Tom and Betty had thirteen (13) known children:

Tom, or W. T. was called 'Wm. Thomas Burton' as a witness on marriage license of one of his younger brothers, James Monroe Burton's marriage to Laurentine Beal in Dec. 1879. 'W . T. BURTON' is on his tombstone & wife's death certificate. The BURTONs lived near the KINGs & ODOMs between Sebree & Dixon, Webster Co., KY. Much information on BURTONs was obtained from Clyde and Cosby ODOM [brothers] in 1978.

As a 2nd Great-Granddaughter, would be interested in any family stories. # Am a direct descendant of Ideller BURTON. Thank you: Gloria Odom.
