Marion M. Kalk, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
She was born Marion May Plockelman on April 8, 1927, at Curtis, Clark County, Wisconsin.
Marion attended Schwartzwald and Central High School in Sheboygan County. She worked at Leverenz Shoe Factory.
On April 26, 1947, she married Willard C. Kalk. Together they lived in ten different states while Willard worked construction jobs with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Some of her favorite states include Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, and Alabama. Willard preceded her in death on November 10, 2006.
Marion liked everything homemade. She enjoyed growing, baking and preserving. Her secret to a long life was making homemade bread. She decorated her kitchen with steamboats and her favorite "states". Marion had a life long interest in cats, and a love for Scandinavian furniture and design. She enjoyed reading decorating magazines and the Chicago Tribune.
A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, at St. Johannes Cemetery, Cleveland, WI.
