Dr. Thomas L. Stringer, born in 1860, was a native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Toronto University in 1890, and located his practice in Algonac on March 17, 1894. He served as health officer of Algonac for a period of time. His office was first on the river side of Water and Clay Sts. Around 1914, he moved across the street, just south of the corner of Water and Clay Sts. Dr. Stringer was a star performer on the Algonac baseball team and an owner of race horses. Dr. Stringer died in Algonac in 1941.
