She was born April 27, 1909 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Emilie (Sprenger) Sommer.
On August 22, 1931 she married A. Willard Flader in Sheboygan. She and her husband owned and operated Flader's Drug Store in Sheboygan from 1937 until retiring in 1966. Survivors include two sons, Tom Flader and James (Linda) Flader, all of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Ann (William Otto) Katt of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Stephen and Joan, David, Barbara, Susan and Laura, Ross and Zachary; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Willard on August 20, 1998.
Visitation December 17, 2009 at the Zacherl Funeral Home. Burial in the St. George Catholic Cemetery, in the Town of Rhine.
