He was born May 10, 1918 to Carl Jackson Stewart and Lutie Underwood Stewart in Dotson. In 1939, he married Mary Annie Friday. She preceded him in death. In 1952 he was called to the ministry and became a Baptist preacher. He is survived by his son, James Stewart of Midland; daughters, Martha Ann Hector and Tilda Jones, both of Midland; sister, Laura Baker of Matagorda; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, Jan. 4, between the hours of 1-3 p.m. Graveside services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev.
