Doris M. Duellman
beloved wife, inspiring mother and compassionate grandmother, Doris M. Duellman, a village of Cleveland resident, took her Lord's hand on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Medical struggles throughout her life were obstacles that she overcame because of her everlasting love for her family and deep desire to be with them until the very end when her body became too weak for her final battle against pneumonia.
Doris was born September 25, 1937 in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Edward F. and Lucile M. (Wernecke) Jost.
Doris was a 1955 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School.
She was united in marriage to her soul mate, Edward N. Duellman on March 2, 1957 at St. John & St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland.
Doris' sense of humor, zest for life and unfailing love for her Lord, her family and her friends could be seen in every walk of her life. She appreciated the simple things in life: the smell of flowers, the birds at the window, the warmth of the sun and spending quality time with her family during celebrations and their cottage in northern Wisconsin, especially taking paddle boat rides with her grandchildren. Her joy was seeing a smile on the faces of those around her. Her strong faith and devotion was evident through her activities within the church.
Even though motherhood was her main priority, she had been a rural letter carrier for the Cleveland Post Office for over 17 years, retiring in 1998.
Surviving Doris is her loving husband, Edward, of 52 years. She will be deeply missed and in their hearts forever by her two daughters, Deb (Ted) Wehrman of Sheboygan and Dawn (David) Duellman-Arndt of Waukesha. Her four grandchildren, Zachary, Karina, Jacob and Matthew were the highlight of her life and theirs. In addition, her brother, James Jost of Cleveland and a sister, Karen (James) Gutknecht of Milwaukee.
Along with her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jost.
Interment will follow at St. Johanna Cemetery in Hika Bay.
