Apolonia was born May 7, 1805 in Anstel, a village to the northwest of Stommeln, daughter of Herman Breuer and Anna Maria Schumacher. She and Herman were married in St. Martin Church, Feb. 29, 1840 before the Pastor, Johann Gerhard Sieben (1833-1880).

It seems certain that the family continued to live in the house Agnes inherited from her parents. On Feb. 21, 1840 Peter Baus bequeathed nine pieces of property, including the home on Schmittgasse, "to the children of Agnes" (Maria, Mathias, Peter and Wilhelm) but. "left the lifelong use to the married couple, Herman Flock and Apolonia Breuer, according to the act of the local notary Mueller." (Deed of Sale Document, 5-15-1857).
