Mildred Carrigan, 87, of Springdale, passed away peacefully Friday, May 1, 2009, at her home. She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Bedford, Pa., to the late Frank and Lillian (Reed) Perrin.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Carrigan; a granddaughter, Danielle Burkett Early; three brothers; and four sisters.

Mildred was retired from Glenshaw Glass, where she worked as a packer. She was a member of the Arnold American Legion and enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Glenn (Rose) Blandlord, of Lower Burrell; a daughter, Janice (Dr. Joel) Burkett, of Cheswick; four granddaughters, Nancy Zaner, Sherri Blandford, Laura Marzka and Amy Nayef; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her pet companions, Bentley and Simon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, Arnold, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Harold Mele officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
