According to the vital records of Shipley, Sussex, England, George Streeter was born there 2 Jan 1814 to William and Elizabeth (Laker) Streeter. In 1834; (along with his sister, Hannah and her husband Edward Bristow and their first three children) came to Woolwich County, Ontario. They crossed on the ship "Lord Melville". They were part of the Petworth Immigration Project (see "Assisting Emigration to Upper Canada" by Wendy Cameron and Mary McDougal Maude.) He apprenticed with a blacksmith; but farmed 50 acres. He married Susan Isenhour the daughter of Michael and Marilla (Knickerbocker) Isenhour about 1838. They were the parents of eight children. After Susan's death in 1884; he moved to Michigan where he died 5 July 1898. He is buried in the Hinton Twp. Cemetery in Mecosta, MI. -Virgina Sande 5/2/12
