He was born on July 1, 1924, in the town of Centerville, the son of the late Carl and Adelaide (Wagner) Leiteritz.
On November 6, 1954, Willard was united in marriage to Fern Boeldt. The couple resided in the town of Centerville, where they engaged in dairy farming. The marriage was blessed with three children. Fern passed away on May 23, 1979.
Willard was a life-long member of St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland, where he served on the church council as trustee. He was also a member of the Manitowoc County Holstein Association and the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau.
Willard is survived by two sons, Keith and Dean, both of the town of Centerville; one daughter, Cheryl (Bill) Fisher of Sheboygan; one grandson, Jesse Fisher of Sheboygan; one granddaughter, Jessica (Ron) Meyer of Campbellsport; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Milton (Doris) Leiteritz of the town of Centerville; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Erdmann of Manitowoc; and Mrs. Laverne (Harlan) Albrecht of Kiel. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister and two brothers-in-law, Gertrude and George Vandeloo, and Herbert Erdmann.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on January 8, 2009, at St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Pastor David Endorf will officiate, and burial will follow at St. Johannes Cemetery in Cleveland.
