Jack, 83, 9139 U.S. 127, Celina, died at 11:31 p.m., in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

He was the last surviving son of Charles and Trecia (Alexander) Donovan. On Jun 22, 1940, he married Evelyn L. Strabel, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James (Elaine), Cecil and Daniel (Janet), Mendon; five daughters, Patricia (Leon) Reynolds, Brunswick, Carol (Lester) Etzler, Willshire, Kathleen (Robert) Schwartz, Decatur, IN, Joann (Michael) Valentine, Rockford, and Cindy (Steve) Bronson, Warrenton, VA; three sisters, Ruth Chaney, Mendon, Marie Howell, Celina, and Mary French, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Heindel, Celina, and Pauline Donovan, St. Marys; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Deceased are five brothers and two sisters, all linked below.

He retired as a foreman at New Idea, Coldwater, after 42 years of service and served with the U.S. Army's 110th Mountain Division during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post, all of Celina, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135, Coldwater.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Tom Arheit officiating.
