Nancy Elizabeth Blaine age 76, passed away Oct. 6, 2023 at the Pickering House with her family by her side. She was born May 14, 1947 in Lancaster, OH to the late Charles and Ruth Blaine. After graduation from Lancaster High School in 1965 she attended Ohio University and then decided to follow her dream to become a flight attendant with American Airlines, based in Dallas TX. After a few years she then transferred to United Airlines in Chicago. During these years her flights were confined to the United States. Her travel then expanded to her base at Washington-Dulles Airport flying all over the world as an international flight attendant. Her dream career lasted for 37 years. She lived in Leesburg, VA for 30 years where she was an avid golfer and served as Deacon in the local Presbyterian Church.
Nancy looked forward to coming home to Lancaster for Christmas and occasionally a visit to the Fairfield County Fair. She also enjoyed special times with her High School girlfriends throughout the years. She leaves a sister, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Charles and Ruth Blaine, and brother-in-law, Geoff Custer.
Caring cremation has taken place through the Frank E Smith Funeral Home. Burial of her cremains will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery. Buried with mother, Ruth Blaine.
