Roland proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. He was also very proud to serve the Morrison 4H Club as a general leader as well as dairy and forestry leader for many years.
A very passionate person, Roland gave his all in everything he did, from helping to get the gymnasium built at Morrison Zion Lutheran, to land conservation, his dairy farm, and above all else, his family.
He is survived by his wife Doris; children, Philip (Denise) Klug, Kathy Suttles, David (Sherri) Klug, Liz (Todd) Ratliff, son-in-law Cliff Guns; his grandchildren, Kendra, Kendell, Jason (Kelly), (Jack), Matt (Nicole), Kayla (Tommy), Ray, Bobby (Meghan), Kimmy (Tyler), Luke, Jake, and thirteen great grandchildren. Roland is further survived by his siblings; Howard (Leona) Klug, Elizabeth Walther, Christine (Randall) Kolb, sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law; Margaret Klug, Karen (Allen) Frailing, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Roland was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Guns, granddaughters Cassandra Wilson (née Klug) and Kimberly Suttles, his sister Sarah Siebert and brother Rudy.
Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside from 1:00PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023, until time of service at 3:00PM with Pastor Kyle Wangelin officiating. Nickel Funeral Home, Morrison is assisting the family.
