Roger P. Peterman, 88, of Huntsville and formerly of London, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Madison County, Ohio on July 3, 1935, the son of the late Ray L. and Lilah (Craig) Peterman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Daphne Peterman, a sister, Katherine Miller, and five brothers: Keith, Ralph, Charlie, David, and Gayle Peterman.

On January 18, 1990, he married Elsie (Pitts) Dixon Peterman in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she survives in Huntsville. He is also survived by a son, Derrick Lynn (Lori) Peterman of Sabina, OH, step-son, Rick (Sandy) Dixon of London, OH, a step-daughter, Polly (Ron) Armstrong of Belle Center, OH, seven grandchildren: Logan, Lacey, and Dylan Peterman, Paul (Amy) Dixon, Steve (Brittney) Dixon, Brad McComas, Brandon (Hannah) McComas, a sister, Carolyn Elfrink, two brothers, Lowell (Connie) Peterman and Paul (Elizabeth) Peterman, three sisters-in-law, Cathryn Moore, Louise Pitts, Elinore Peterman, a special niece, Bernie Peterman (Gary Aliff), and many special neighbors & friends.

Roger was a 1954 graduate of West Jefferson High School and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked for the Ohio Penal System (OPI) in London, OH until his retirement in 2000. For many years he was a member of the United States Trotting Association where he owned and raced horses. He was also a member of the Indian Lake AMVETS & Moose Lodges.

There will be a celebration of life service at a later date.
