THOMAS M. CHASENSKY

(1950 - 2022)

Thomas M. Chasensky, age 71, formerly of Manitowoc, and a current resident of Braidwood, IL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Upon his arrival into heaven, Tom was greeted by his parents Raymond and Anne (Kopidlansky) Chasensky, his sister Carol Chasensky Francl and his favorite Green Bay Packer, Reggie White.

Tom was born on April 1, 1950 in Manitowoc, son of the late Raymond and Anne (Kopidlansky) Chasensky. He served his country as a Navy machinist mate first class on a nuclear submarine, which led to a lifelong career at the Exelon nuclear power plant. Tom also served his church, Immaculate Conception, for many years as Parish Council President and on the Diocesan Council.

Tom's greatest joy in life was his family. In his free time, Tom dominated in euchre; even though, at times, there was no honor at the table. Fish feared him as he slayed many in his lifetime and prepared them properly with his special seasoning (recipe is still unknown). He relished in his ability to knock his kid's bags off the board, making his win just that much more enjoyable.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years: Cheryl Chasensky, Braidwood, IL; his children: Michael (Angela) Chasensky, Bloomington, IL, Melissa (Chad) Fasig, Bloomington, IL, Michelle Chasensky (Mike Frazier), Gardner, IL, Mary (Blake) Hess, Austin, TX; and four granddaughters: Raegan Fasig, Kenzie Fasig, Kira Plath, and Ella Chasensky. Tom came from a large family with numerous siblings and step-siblings: Ray (Kelli Dettman) Chasensky Jr., Susan Blaufuss, Mary (Bob) Steele, Tony (Joy) Chasensky, Roger (Marlene) Loose, Jeff (Chris) Loose, Cheryl Spragg and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 522 Tower Avenue, Kellnersville. The Rev. Edmund Siguenza will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be accorded by Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post #6179. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com

Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
